UNISON REJECTS OPERATIONAL REDESIGN PACKAGE

UNISON REJECTS OPERATIONAL REDESIGN PACKAGE

UNISON Yorkshire Ambulance Branch represents over 3200 members within Yorkshire Ambulance Service and is the only Union that can negotiate on your behalf.

UNISON is aware that members are disgruntled for various reasons and members are stating “enough is enough.”

It came to light on Tuesday that not all members have been allocated a station or rota line as agreed, this should have been completed by 24th January.  Also since this date members have raised over the following;

  • Urgent tiers staff being told pay protection does not apply to the change to their unsocial hours.
  • Meals subs and AVP removed before the ballot ends.
  • Rota's put on GRS before the ballot ends.
  • Incorrect rota's are still being Inputted into GRS and issued to stations.
  • Trust managers giving out inaccurate information on policies and procedures.
  • Rotas still with unacceptable shift start and finish times.

After extensive communication from members stating they felt the UNISON vote was untenable due to the above reasons, the UNISON YAS Branch committee, after discussion with the full time officer, made the decision to assess the position of the current on-going ballot.

The ballot result to date runs at 70% to reject the full package.

Because members feedback has indicated that ‘enough is enough’,

UNISON has informed the Trust that it’s members have rejected the Trusts proposals.

If the rejected proposals are imposed UNISON YAS Branch would initiate a campaign of industrial action. A full electoral reform ballot would need to take place before any action could commence.
