Campaigning for fair pay for NHS staff – Use your Vote - Ballot opens 28 August

Dear Member

As a member of UNISON you are entitled to vote in the forthcoming ballot of members working in the NHS in England, over this year’s pay offer.

UNISON YAS branch urge you to vote in the ballot. Your NHS pay ballot paper will soon be arriving at your home address and it is important that you make your views known.

The ballot will be to vote for strike action and action short of strike, over the Autumn and Winter. UNISON recognises that it is not easy to vote for industrial action in the NHS. We are encouraging members to vote Yes in the ballot. However we recognise that it is your decision, and above all we are asking you to use your vote to make your views known.

UNISON is asking for immediate payment of the 1% wage increase consolidated into your salary, as recommended by the Pay Review Body and payment of the Living Wage of £7.65 per hour for staff on the lowest pay point. We are also calling for an above inflation pay rise for 2015/16 and a commitment to future pay rises that will restore the value of NHS pay.

Please use your vote, so that we can send a strong message to make the Government reconsider its decision.

If you have not received your ballot paper by 3 September you can request one online at www.unison.org.uk/my‐unison/welcome or by calling UNISONdirect on 0800 0 857 857. The ballot line closes at 12.00 noon on 15 September and this will be the last opportunity to request a ballot paper.

Please Vote Yes!
