Refusal of Annual Leave

UNISON is aware that there have been issues within some CBU’s recently, with regards to staff being able to book annual leave.

Staff were having annual leave declined although there was still leave hours available on that station, as 20% of total station hours are allocated for leave. The reason given for these refusals being that the CBU was already over its allocation of 20%.  

UNISON members from Bridlington station raised a grievance on the basis that this was outside of the agreed policy.

UNISON is pleased to announce that following negotiations this week with David Williams, Deputy Director of Operations, it has been confirmed that leave will now be booked in accordance with the agreed policy, i.e.  20% of rostered hours allocated to leave per station and NOT 20% of the CBU.
